In 1995 André Rieu played the "Second Waltz" in the intermission of the soccer match Ajax - Bayern München. A big gamble, he purchased time in this intermission for a life TV commercial. If Ajax was loosing a pre-recorded commercial for his new CD would have been played. Ajax won the game with 5-2! This performance meant his breakthrough

in The Netherlands, selling 900.000 copies of his CD "Strauss & Co".
